Success Means... Aggression Replacement Training START (Adult)

A comprehensive intervention program for adults with aggressive tendencies.

Participants receive an education on enhancing social skills necessary for positive and healthy interpersonal communication, anger-control and decision-making.

MULTICULTURALISM

Welcome to the R2R Workshop on Multiculturalism. This workshop was developed to raise awareness of the issues of Multiculturalism, Awareness & Diversity. It is intended to help young people understand the origins of racism and discrimination, and what can be done to prevent it from continuing.

R2R recognizes the dignity of every person as having equal rights and opportunities without discrimination.

DEALING WITH ABUSE

This workshop focuses on four areas:

nPhysical Abuse – can involve slapping, punching, kicking, biting, shoving, choking, or using a weapon or other object to threaten or injure.

nPsychological Abuse – can include excessive jealousy and attempts to control the partner’s time, their activities, even how they dress. Psychological abuse can also include being harassed, having possessions destroyed, being denied affection, or threats to harm themselves or their partner.

nVerbal Abuse – includes constant criticism, name calling and put-downs. It includes unjust blaming, or false accusations about loyalties or sexual actions. It can include repeated threats not only against the partner, but also the partner’s friends.

nSexual Abuse – the woman may be forced to perform sexual acts against her will or to suffer pain or injury during sex. It can also include being infected by HIV or with an STD.

Developing Healthy Relationships
Youth learn to:

Explore approaches and skills that individuals can use to foster healthy relationships
Explore the idea of boundaries, defining where one person begins and someone else ends

Increase their comfort with who they are

Strengthen their awareness of how their own feelings and understandings influence their relationships

Develop a framework for viewing themselves and others in a relationship to increase their ability to make healthy choices

The purpose of this workshop is to:
• Help participants identify and understand conflict better
• Provide techniques for improving conflict resolution and
communication skills
• Help participants resolve sample conflicts and build a climate of
internal cooperation within their organization

CPI - NON VIOLENT CRISIS INTERVENTION
The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention^® training program is a holistic behavior management system based on the philosophy of providing the best Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security^sm for staff and those in their care, even during the most violent moments. The program focuses on preventing disruptive behavior by communicating with individuals respectfully and with concern for their well-being. The program teaches physical interventions only as a last resort—when an individual presents an imminent danger to self or others—and all physical interventions taught are designed to be non harmful, noninvasive, and to maintain the individual’s dignity. Follow-up debriefing strategies are also key components of the training program.
